Breif History of Trentham Pottery:

Trentham Art Pottery Ware was a trading name used by G. Hardy & Co. who bought Devonshire Potteries Ltd in 1954, and ceased trading in 1968. Beswick had previously designed and produced ceramic wares under a three year agreement (1938 – 1941) with G Hardy and they were marketed with the ‘Trentham Art Wares’ backstamp. Devonshire Potteries Ltd was established on the old The Bovey Tracy Art Pottery site which wound up in 1946.
