A pair of Ceramic Bulls designed by Colin Melbourne for Trentham Pottery of Devon.  These are Classic English Mid-century Design. Stylized figures of a prize bulls in a head down pose. These where produced by Trentham in various sizes and colours.  These particular examples are glazed in a gorgeous Emerald green glaze with mottled green tails and horns.  Green is one of the most sort after colours at the moment by Interior Designers as Emerald Green & Gold Interior Design schemes are on trend right now! DIMENSIONS of each:  The larger Bull Height is approximately 6” inches height x 12 inches length. The Samller Bull Height is approximately 2.25 inches height x 4.25 inches length. CONDITION:  Both are in fabulous condition. No chips or Cracks Repairs. Just some light surface cuffs here and there. No Serious Problems! Overall lovely examples in Excellent displayable condition. Breif History of Trentham Pottery: Trentham Art Pottery Ware was a trading name used by G. Hardy & Co. who bought Devonshire Potteries Ltd in 1954, and ceased trading in 1968. Beswick had previously designed and produced ceramic wares under a three year agreement (1938 - 1941) with G Hardy and they were marketed with the ‘Trentham Art Wares’ backstamp.     We are delighted to offer for sale a skilfully hand carved imperial white jade recumbent horse with its front legs gently bent and its head rised in front,  finely incised bifurcated mane, the stone of a goregeous even pale Celadon-tinged white colour.  This lovely rare example dates to the Qing dynasty, Qianlong period (1736-1795).   • We are delighted to offer for sale this gorgeous piece of Country House Interior Design. A fabulous ‘English Oak & Leather Studded Carver.  This lovely example has a gorgeous Leather studded Back and Seat with an Oak frame. It has Oak arm rests and Oak turned front legs. This rare example is late 19th Century and dates to the 1880s.  This charming example has loads of Character! The leather studded upholstery is in Excellent usable condition and has a gorgeous deep ‘Chestnut’ coloured patina acheived over many years. The leather is studded with large Brass studs which also have a fabulous patina. Overall a really nice solid chair in very usable Antique condition with bags of lived in charm. The leather seat has been professionally replumped and rewebbed using the original leather which has been fed and waxed and no Nasty splits or tears! So it need no resto and is a really comfortable chair in ready to use condition!  The Oak frame is nice and solid and has lots of usage patina, surface scuffs and wear giving it  loads of authentic Charm and Antique appeal. This is a really lovely solid chair which is good for another 100 years. It would make a fabulous and authentic addition to a Country House Interior Design scheme or a kirky addition to a Contemporary scheme.  It is well suited to most rooms, and could be used as a feature chair in a Bedroom, Hall, Lounge,  Dining room or Loft Appartment!  Measurements: x36 inches (H) from floor to the top of the back plate x22.5 inches (W) across the front of the seat  x18 inches (D) front front to back Overall a a fabulous example with loads of History in Excellent usable Antique condition.  Our price included delivery to most UK Addresses.

    We are delighted to offer for sale this gorgeous piece of Victorian Silver. This lovely rare example comes complete with a full set of Hallmarks. An assay mark for Exeter and makers mark ’ WRS’ for William Rawlings Sobey and date mark for 1853. This lovely example in excellent condition. No Splits or Repairs!  The bowl does have a few light light dinks/ripples which could easily be improved by an enthusiast or collector. It is also mongrammed on the handle with the Intial ‘W’. Overall a nice solid example in useable / displayable condition. It measures approx. 8.75 inches in length and weighs approx .60g These would make a very worth addition to an Antique Silver Collection. These are very fragile will be very carefully packed for transit!  So you can bid in confidence! Exeter Silversmith William Rawlings Sobey: Following on from the Stone family silversmiths, William Rawlings Sobey (1811 – 1852) is a sought-after Exeter silversmith.  Born in Exeter around 1811, his makers marks are registered from 1833 to about 1852. He was a contemporary of John Stone, and like John Stone, he manufactured spoons, butterknives and other flatware in the Fiddler and Old English patterns. The 1841 & 1851 census returns show him as resident in All Hallows Goldsmith Street. The 1851 White’s Devonshire Dictionary lists his workshop as being at 1 Queen Street.William Rowlings Sobey William Rowlings Sobey Unlike John Stone, William Rowlings Sobey was not folllowed by his son into the business.     We are delight to offer for sale a gorgeous piece of Archaic Chinese Craftsmanship. A Chinese Bronze Ritual Wine Ewer or Pitcher fashioned from a very heavy weight bronze with a gorgeous Verdigris patination in Turquoise Greens and Chocolate Browns.  Its design dates back to the Song Dynasty. This example most likely dates to the Qing Dynasty, late Qianlong period 18thC to early 19thC. It comes complete with its original bronze stopper, which has a stylized bird perched as the finial. The body shape is best described as a flattened teardrop with a long narrow neck and on each side it is pressed a different stylized Chinese characters and floral motifs.  It has a very slender Swans neck spout and a shepherd hook shaped handle fixed at the lower body and middle neck. It stands on a raised and wide flared foot and is pressed in the base with a square seal mark, which is a little difficult to decipher. It is in Excellent Condition. No Dents Cracks or Repairs! It would have had a small chain linking the Cover to the handle which is missing. The cover has  small moulding fault in the rim, which would have been recreated in the firing process and only adds to it charm and authenticity. Otherwise No Serious damage.  This example measures approx.  9.5 inches in height x 4.75 inches across from handle to spout. Please do contact me if you need an more info. At the four corners are four pressed glass drop lights in the same frosted and polished finish.
